History

Who We Are

The Orlu Regional Union Inc is a premier non profit (501c)(3) organization that is duly incorporated and registered in the state of Georgia since 1996. It is an umbrella that binds all people who by cultural affiliations, birth or marriage claims the old Orlu senatorial zone in Imo State Nigeria as their ancestral homeland. Considered as one of the largest cultural organizations in the Atlanta Georgia metropolis, our activities are focused mainly on social, cultural and humanitarian events. We use this organization as a means to galvanize and inspire each, share successes, learn, build and shape a new culture of community service for the 21st century.

Our History

The beginning of what is today known as Orlu Regional Union Atlanta Georgia (Umu Opuruiche) was born out of promises and commitments made by a few individuals among us. formation of Orlu Regional Atlanta.

On Thanksgiving weekend of 1995, a clarion call was made for all Orlu sons and daughters to assemble at Houston, Texas for a very challenging, interesting and exciting meeting of what became the formation of Orlu Regional Atlanta.
